Warning Signs of Drowsy Driving
Drivers with untreated sleep disorders are more likely to drive drowsy. Excessive sleepiness decreases judgment and increases risk taking. Approximately 1 in 5 fatal accidents include a drowsy driver. Symptoms of drowsy driving:

Prevent Drowsy Driving
Before taking the wheel, consider these suggestions to prevent drowsy driving:
Get enough sleep, 7-8 hours
Develop good sleep habits
Avoid drinking alcohol
Avoid taking medications that make you sleepy
Take a pre-drive nap
Pull over in a safe place and take a mid-drive nap
Avoid driving between 12am-6am when possible
Drink caffeine to temporarily improve alertness
